Sustainability Committee

The UNISOL Group has established a Sustainability Committee, which debates and decides upon action on sustainability-related issues. This Committee is chaired by our President and Representative Director and its membership comprises Directors, Executive Officers, and Directors of our operating companies, judged suitable for membership and nominated to the position of member by the chairperson. Meetings of the Committee are scheduled twice a year at minimum.

The Committee establishes guidelines and plans measures for avoiding, reducing, and controlling sustainability-related risks as well as for promptly engaging with sustainability-related opportunities. Alongside this, it monitors implementation progress and outcomes of the guidelines and measures it formulates. The Board of Directors has oversight on key measures discussed by the Committee and receives a report on these measures at least once a year, as stipulated by our Sustainability Committee Regulations.

In addition, in the aim of providing support for the operation of this Committee, we have set up a Sustainability Committee Secretariat. The Secretariat discusses and examines the formulation of guidelines, measures, and other policy, as well as strategic alignment across all of our operating companies and departments, presenting its conclusions on these matters to the Committee.

Workshops for officers

The UNISOL Group invites guest lecturers to conduct workshops for the Directors, Executive Officers, and Directors of our operating companies who comprise the membership of our Sustainability Committee, in the aim of equipping them with the relevant skills and competencies required to debate, decide on, and supervise sustainability-related matters. In the fiscal year ended December 2024, we held such a workshop on the theme of trends around information disclosure relating to climate change.

We also conduct workshops for our Board of Directors, with the same aim. In the fiscal year ended December 2024, Directors and Audit & Supervisory Board Members (including Outside Directors and Members) who are not members of the Sustainability Committee attended a talk by and engaged in dialogue with a guest lecturer on the subject of climate change action.
