Core concept
The UNISOL Group believes that the environment is an asset shared by all humankind. We have set out achieving harmony and coexistence with the global environment as a theme of our Basic Policy on Sustainability. We are committed to taking action on climate change and conserving resources by visualizing and reducing the factors in our various business processes that could contribute to environmental impacts.
Progress on each of our efforts in this area is discussed and examined by our Sustainability Committee, chaired by our President and Representative Director.
Basic Policy on Sustainability (an excerpt)
(1) Achieve harmony and coexistence with the environment
We believe that the environment is an asset shared by all humankind, and we will strive to respond to climate change issues and conserve resources by visualizing and reducing the factors in our various business processes that could contribute to environmental impacts.
Sustainability-contributing sales
Guided by our Basic Policy on Sustainability, the UNISOL Group aims to offer solutions to social challenges through our business activities. As part of these efforts, we have defined a category of “sustainability-contributing sales” (calculated on a non-consolidated basis) within our merchandise and services: sales of environmentally friendly merchandise and services, as well as of those concerned with the fields of automation and labor-saving. We are working through our Medium-Term Management Plan to maximize such sales. We have also classified the proportion of net sales Company-wide for which these sustainability-contributing sales account as the “sustainability-contributing sales ratio.” We have set numerical targets for this ratio in relation to our materialities in the categories of reducing environmental impacts in our business activities and of improving productivity through proposals for automation and labor-saving for production equipment and construction sites.
